Puppi SIO Merino Wool Covers

$50.00

Sterling & Me is one of the few USA retailers for Puppi Wool Covers from Poland!

The SIO (Snap in One) cover has two snaps which allows you to snap in the SIO insert. These covers can be used like a regular cover or with the snap in insert (sold separately). Commonly referred to as an AI2 (all in two) cover.

Please note: The cover is sold without an insert.

Puppi one-size diaper covers are made of two layers of extremely soft and thin merino wool flannel. Puppi diapers are not only a healthy alternative for your child’s skin, but also care for the environment. All fabrics we use are biodegradable.

All Puppi diaper colors are limited edition!

One-size plus cover will be the perfect choice for you, if:
-       You are just starting to use cloth diapers and your baby is already around 19 lbs.
-       You are looking for a wool cover to use with fitted or night time diapers.

OS diapers can be adjusted with the rise snaps to grow with your baby. This way, you can use them much longer than sized diapers! The OS PLUS is a great solution for night time diapers since they offer more width when you need more inserts. They also fit larger babies than the regular OS diapers (OS+ fits 19-39lbs).

Beautiful and elegant diapers with colorful snaps and decorative stitching. The leg elastics are soft yet very stretchy, which allows for a trim fit on virtually every child that is gentle around the legs. Once lanolised, these covers hold moisture very effectively. Wool is an extremely versatile fabric for cloth diapering-- it is breathable, temperature regulating (perfect for both cold and hot days), soft, and naturally antibacterial. Lanolin breaks down urine, so it does not need to be washed as often as diapers made with PUL. Simply hang to dry between uses. However, wool needs to be hand washed with wool detergent and re-lanolising on wash day.

These covers may be used with any insert, prefold diapers, or low rise fitted diaper!

Most babies only need about 4 or 5 wool diaper covers.

Wool tips from PUPPI diapers:

At first the idea of treating and washing wool a certain way might be frightening, however both washing wool and doing a lanolin treatment is very simple and doesn’t require special skills.

    - If the wool cover is just a little bit damp, the only thing you need to do is to hang it to dry.
    - If the cover is very wet, you need to rinse it in clean water, gently squeeze out (do not wring out) and hang it to dry.
    - If the cover is soiled you need to wash it in lukewarm water with one tablespoon of wool detergent, rinse it in clean water, gently squeeze (not wring) out and hang it to dry.

Easy! These are the simple steps for everyday wool covers care. However, from time to time they will need some special washing and lanolising. Depending on the intensity of use after some time (2-3 months) wool cover will not “hold” the moisture so well. That means that the lanolin has rinsed out of its fibers that makes the wool keep its special advantages (no leaks and antibacterial properties) and you will need to make a lanolin treatment.

After lanolin treatment, the cover might seem sticky. This is normal and will be gone after 1-2 uses of cover.

Thanks to its chemical and physical properties, wool doesn’t need to be washed very often. If it doesn’t get soiled, it’s enough to wash it every second week. The structure of wool fibers makes them repel dirt and neutralize smells. Lanolin contained in the fibers doesn’t let bacteria grow. However, lanolin treatment from time to time is necessary.
